Hurray for Heretics!
"The belief that man can change his surrounding environment through personal discipline, government regulation, and global effort is monstrously offensive to the sovereignty of God,” said Al Mohler in a statement Wednesday evening, “According to the Christian worldview, man is in a state of total inability to do anything good, and the so-called ‘creation care’ of the evangelical left is a heresy that exalts human effort above the glory of God.”

Wow, there are so many errant statements in this 'statement', I don't even know where to begin. Total depravity is not a universally agreed upon doctrine within Christianity. Whoever said that Creation Care was simply a human endeavor? How do we glorify God, if not through our willful obedience (which could include creation care)?
Hurray for Heretics, indeed!
Although, perhaps he's right: maybe men are totally depraved...thank God for women!
I've come to think certain phrases signal an approaching over generalization.
If someone today combines a definate article (the) with "Christian" and "worldview" it is typically not going to be pretty.
Heretics, too, call themselves Christian.
Orthodoxy / Heresy is a relative concept. At some point in history, orthodoxy was heresy, and certain heresies was considered orthodoxy.
Orthodoxy itself is heresy in the eyes of the heretics. During enlightenment, chemisry was connsidered a form of heresy by alchemists.
Orthodoxy itself doesn't mean anything except it tells us what view point has prevailed in history.
